Genetech Research Institute (GRI) is a private, non-profit organization that has been established with the vision of allowing objective oriented, independent scientific research in the life sciences in Sri Lanka. GRI has a permanent staff of scientists and technical staff as well as a state-of-the-art Molecular Biology and Biochemistry research laboratory. GRI welcomes external researchers to utilize its laboratory facilities, and technical staff, and collaborate with its scientific staff to carry out research in an efficient, dynamic environment free from restrictions and delays. GRI is currently supported by internal funds and a 3 year grant to study dengue from the National Institutes of Health, USA. GRI is also supported technically and scientifically by Genetech Molecular Diagnostics, which is Sri Lanka’s first biotechnology company, and the premier practitioner of biotechnology in Sri Lanka.
